Back and Neck Therapy
Low back pain and Neck pain are the most common cause of discomfort. There is evidence to prove that Manual therapy/Manipulation and specific exercises are effective in treating the conditions. Physiowise aims to deal with these conditions in the most recent evidence based manner.
Joint Conditions
Degeneration starts at young ages as in 20’s in most people. They are a common cause of Osteoarthritis. Other forms of arthritis such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis and other forms of arthritis could also be managed from a movement perspective using physiotherapy. We aim to restore ranges, increase strength, muscle length and reduce pain in these conditions.
Sports Injuries
Sports injuries could very well be sustained due to lack proper fitness training (specific to the sport), muscle strength deficits, lack of stretching and similar factors which could be managed using physiotherapy. We aim to retrain you with warm up, cool down, sport specific proprioceptive exercise training, agility, strengthening and static and dynamic stretching routines.
Orthopedic Rehabilitation
Orthopedic rehabilitation is the rehabilitation that precedes or is followed by orthopedic surgery. Physiowise aims to restore function and movement after surgery. This could involve rehabilitation after total knee and hip replacement, knee ACL and meniscectomy, shoulder rotator cuff repair and instability surgery and all similar musculoskeletal surgeries.
Prevention
Injuries could be classified as acute, subacute and chronic injuries. Rehabilitation is different for each of these stages. In the later stages of rehabilitation, an essential part is prevention. These would involve looking at surrounding joints and muscles and training that involves maintaining ranges, strength, length and balance. Physiowise looks at incorporating movement wise, posture wise and growth wise programs for all ages, especially the elderly, office population and children.
Pain Management
Pain management involves using electrotherapy, taping, exercising, bracing, mobilisation, soft tissue techniques and so on. Physiowise uses a range of these techniques to try to reduce the pain levels. Also education and advice on pain relieving physical strategies and home based exercise techniques are also emphasised.
